Conservative candidate for Mayor of London, Shaun Bailey, pledged to “listen and act” in a London Jewish Forum event at JW3 Jewish community centre this week, speaking about his plans for London, commitment to combating antisemitism, and action to boost trade between the capital and Israel during the Q&A session.

The Conservative London Mayoral candidate said that a London trade mission to Israel would be high on his agenda, and spoke warmly of his visit to Israel with CFI.

Mr Bailey urged audience members to press other London Mayoral candidates on what action they will take on important issues to the community – “Ask them what they did about the Al-Quds march, asked them are they willing to visit Israel and learn”.

Answering a question on transport, Mr Bailey said that he would be keen to introduce a bus service between Stamford Hill and Golders Green.

Mr Bailey said he would offer City Hall to Jewish students who were unable to hold events at their own university campuses because of opposition to Zionist activities.

He also expressed support for the proposed Holocaust Memorial to be built in Westminster.

The Q&A event was chaired by Gary Mond of the London Jewish Forum.
