Suzy Davies AM said that she wanted Wales to be seen “as a centre of research and development, excellence and innovation in steel”, adding that “we can look at a small country like Israel, not that much bigger in terms of population than us, and it is soaring ahead in all areas of innovation across a number of sectors”.

In August 2017, CFI coordinated its first delegation of Welsh Conservatives to Israel and the West Bank. Delegates included six Welsh Assembly Members, as well as senior Welsh Conservatives including the Director of the Conservative Party in Wales, many of whom were visiting Israel for the first time.
