Israel’s Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz visited London this week, meeting UK Ministers to discuss offshore energy opportunities in Israel.
Israel’s Ambassador to the UK H.E. Mark Regev welcomed the visit, stating that Mr Steinitz was “here to promote new and exciting offshore energy opportunities in Israel”.
The Israeli Energy Minister had a meeting with fellow Energy Minister Rt. Hon. Claire Perry MP at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
In November 2018, Israel reached and agreement with Greece, Italy, and Cyprus to place a pipeline connecting Israel’s gas reserves to the three countries.
This major project is costing approximately over $7 billion (£5.4 billion), and will supply gas from the eastern Mediterranean to Europe as the continent seeks to diversify its energy supply.
