After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the annual Biomed conference in Israel took place in person last week, bringing together thousands of industry experts and healthcare companies to highlight the latest innovations and breakthroughs in the world of healthcare and medical technology.

The international conference on life sciences and health technology took place in Israel between 10th and 12th May. The three-day annual event brings together scientists, industry experts and healthcare professionals from all across the globe, helping to highlight the latest innovation and research in the global biotechnology sector.

This year the conference focused on ten different tracks, including bio food, gene therapy and infectious diseases, with each track being chaired by an industry leader in their respective field. The tracks explored the future of healthcare systems and life sciences through biopharma, medical devices, digital health, and diagnostic products and technologies. There was also a focus on Israeli start-ups with hundreds of Israeli companies taking part in an exhibition to showcase their latest innovations and products.

The conference was attended by over 6000 individuals from 45 countries, with the conference being co-chaired by Ruti Alo, the founder and CEO of Medstrata; health technology expert Dr. Ora Dar, PhD; and Dr. Nissim Darvish, MD, PhD, the managing general partner of MeOHR Ventures. Ruti Alo said in a statement: “After holding the conference virtually last year, we are thrilled to be back in person and excited for the opportunity to celebrate our 20th anniversary with the local science ecosystem and our international partners”. Adding: “This year we have expanded our scope of topics to also include infectious diseases, Bio Food and BioConvergance”.
