The movement headed by Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas, Fatah, tweeted a cartoon earlier this week depicting an Israeli soldier planting knives next to the bodies of dead Palestinians.
The caption states “Shoot… add a knife… take a photo” in English and Arabic, above a cartoon showing Palestinians lying in pools of blood. This repeats the Palestinian libel that Israel fabricates stabbing attacks as an excuse to kill innocent Palestinians.
This rhetoric follows weeks of PA and Fatah incitement and the glorification of terror attacks. Last month, a Palestinian Authority street was named after a Palestinian terrorist responsible for killing two Israelis.
Baha Al-Bukhari, a cartoonist who frequently glorifies violence and rock throwing at Israelis, was recently awarded with the Palestine Order of Merit for Culture, Sciences and Arts by Abbas.
Palestinian terrorists are lauded as “Martyrs” if they die while attacking Israelis; Abbas has ordered military funerals for terrorists and monetary grants to their families.
In the last month of Palestinian terror attacks, 11 Israelis have been killed and 145 people injured – 18 of them seriously – in 58 stabbings, 5 shootings and 6 car rammings.
At least 59 Palestinians have died, of which 36 are confirmed to have been killed during or after committing an act of terror. A number of Palestinians have been killed in violent clashes with Israeli security forces in the West Bank and Gaza, after stone throwing and firebomb attacks.
