About CFI:
Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) works to promote its twin aims of supporting Israel and promoting Conservatism in the UK. CFI educates and informs Conservatives about Israel, organises numerous events in and around Westminster, takes Conservative parliamentarians on delegations to Israel, campaigns in support of the Conservative Party, and works to ensure that Israel’s case is fairly represented in Parliament.
The Role:
CFI is seeking a highly organised, motivated and committed individual with extensive experience in events management, and the skills to also run an office.
The role presents an exciting opportunity to deliver some of the largest and most high-profile events in UK politics, and play an integral role in strengthening the UK-Israel relationship.
The position will suit someone with experience in running successful, large-scale events and an interest in fundraising initiatives and office management.
The post is offered on a part-time basis and is envisioned as 28 hours per week (3.5 days). Flexible working arrangements are available.
Key Duties:
Events Strategy and Management
- Develop and coordinate CFI’s annual events programme, including the Annual Business Lunch, Annual Parliamentary Reception and Conservative Party Conference;
- Develop a programme of parliamentary events with high-profile speakers and briefing events for parliamentarians;
- Identify new opportunities to maximise CFI exposure through events;
- Produce detailed proposals for events including timelines, venues, suppliers and costings;
- Manage administration of all event related correspondence, including RSVPs and guestlists;
- Coordinate venue management, caterers, contractors and equipment hire;
- Coordinate marketing of events, including invitations & marketing material;
- Produce post-event evaluation, including attendance lists, fundraising analysis and following up with guests;
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funders and parliamentarians;
- Assist with coordination of campaigning sessions ahead of elections.
Office Administration
- Oversee office administration and maintenance, including invoicing, IT systems, procurement and external contractors;
- Provide HR support to Executive Director, including financial accounts and annual leave administration for team;
- Assist in administration of fundraising;
- Manage and update the ACT database and CFI’s membership database;
- Oversee organisations’ GDPR compliance and serve as CFI’s Data Protection Officer;
- Coordinate CFI’s quarterly Advisory Council Meetings.
Essential:
The successful candidate should have the following qualities and abilities
- Understanding of, a sympathy for, and a desire to promote CFI’s aims and values;
- Proven experience in event management;
- Highly organised with the ability to manage and prioritise competing demands, including multiple events and projects at any one time;
- Confidence in dealing with a wide range of senior stakeholders, including parliamentarians and businesspeople;
- Knowledge of HR and Accounts, and experience of office management is preferable;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a small team environment;
- Sound understanding of data protection legislation and how this relates to record-keeping and correspondence;
- Confident user of MS Office applications (especially Excel and Word);
- The candidate must be available to attend Conservative Party Conference (subject to Jewish holidays) and be prepared to coordinate and attend events outside of usual working hours (i.e. breakfasts and dinners) and be prepared to work up to five days a week ahead of the Annual Business Lunch.

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis throughout May and June, with an intended start date being in June.
