On Wednesday in Parliament, CFI Officer Matthew Offord MP met with a group of Israeli students from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem who are participating in the ‘Isreality’ leadership programme.
In a wide-ranging discussion, the Conservative MP for Hendon shared his views on the UK-Israel relationship and the experiences of the British Jewish community.
He condemned so-called ‘Israel Apartheid Week’, and the double standards often placed on Israel by opponents of the country.
The students asked Mr Offord about the British political system, as well as the impact of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement on UK-Israel relations.
The Isreality leadership programme aims to “create the connection between Judaism and public advocacy for Israel in the diaspora”.
The group of 15 students are visiting numerous university campuses this week, to counter divisive narratives from anti-Israel activists calling for boycotts of Israel.
