On Thursday, Conservative Parliamentarians celebrated Yom HaAtzmaut, Israel’s 73rd Independence Day.
In Parliament, International Trade Minister Ranil Jayawardena wished “all Israelis a Happy Independence Day”, welcoming the “strong” UK-Israel relationship. He said the UK Israel Tech Hub based in Tel Aviv delivers “significant benefits to the British economy” and that the UK was “well-placed” to support Israel in developing ties in the region.
The Minister’s remarks came in response to a question from Conservative MP Rt. Hon. Robert Halfon, who described the normalisation of ties between Israel and her Gulf partners as a “hugely positive step not only for regional peace but for commerce, tourism and cultural exchanges”.
CFI produced a video to celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut, featuring messages from our Parliamentary Officer group of Conservative MPs and Lords. Happy 73rd Birthday, Israel!
