Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt underlined in Foreign and Commonwealth Office Questions this week that there would be “no peace” until Iran ended its “thoroughly destabilising activities”.
A number of Conservative MPs raised their concerns about Iran’s actions and financing of terrorism during the session.
CFI Parliamentary Chairman (Commons) Rt. Hon. Stephen Crabb MP said that “through its human rights abuses, ballistic missile tests and export of terrorism, Iran demonstrates time and again its refusal to be a responsible and constructive member of the international community”.
Craig Tracey MP brought up extensive reports of Iran’s financing of international terrorism.
Minister for the Middle East Dr Andrew Murrison MP also emphasised that Iran must “desist from their ballistic missile programme and their support for proxies that are destabilising the Middle East”, in response to a question by Robert Courts MP.
In response to Bob Blackman MP’s question supporting peaceful coexistence NGOs, the Middle East Minister said: “The only way forward” for Middle East peace is for dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians “to be facilitated and continued”.
Paul Masterton MP condemned rocket attacks on Israel and underlined that “there will be no progress until terror groups stop prioritising the eradication of Israel over peace”.
