The outgoing Director-General of British Government Communication Headquarters (GCHQ) this week spoke for the first time about Britain’s “strong” partnership with Israeli Intelligence Services.
Robert Hannigan stated: “We are building on an excellent cyber relationship with a range of Israeli bodies and the remarkable cyber industry in Be’er Sheva”. He also cited the relationship as protecting people from terrorism “not only in the UK and Israel but in many other countries”.
Israel’s Ambassador to the UK, H.E. Mark Regev confirmed the strength of the intelligence partnership, stating at CFI’s Parliamentary Reception this month that there is “no doubt the cooperation between our two democracies is saving British lives”.
