Three Palestinians have been charged with planning to carry out a terror attack against Israelis on behalf of the Hamas terrorist organisation.
On Tuesday, at the Jerusalem District Court, according to the prosecution filed, Nadseem Hamada who claimed to be the group leader during the investigation, Izz al-Din Atun and Obeida Amira were “terrorist operatives” known to Israeli security services.
It was reported that all three of the accused are from the neighbourhood Sur Baher in East Jerusalem, were charged with a foreign agent, membership in a terrorist organisation and conspiring to carry out a terror attack. A fourth suspect was also arrested and taken for questioning for alleged participation in planning the attack.
The arrest came after a joint police-Shin Bet operation exposed their plot to open fire on IDF soldiers at a bus stop outside the settlement of Oranit, in the West Bank.
The inquiry also showed that Atun and Amira went to Turkey last year to visit Hamas leaders Mahmoud Atun and Musa Azari; exiled in the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange
