Israel’s security agency, the Shin Bet, has arrested two Palestinians in the West Bank for plotting with the IRGC.
The foiled plot involved Yussef and Marsil Mansour, who had agreed to smuggle weapons into the West Bank and gather intelligence on the Israeli Defense Forces.
The two were recruited online by IRGC-Quds Force operatives, Huda Mahna and Mohammed Bashir, posing as members of Hezbollah.
The arrests reflect the ongoing attempts by Iran to destabilise the West Bank by supporting a dramatic increase in terror activity, which has been seen over the last year.
IRGC Commander-in-Chief, Hossein Salami, commented in August 2022 that “just as Gaza was armed, the West Bank can be armed in the same way, and this process is currently taking place”.
Israel has warned of a multi-front war orchestrated by Iran on Israel’s borders. The recent co-ordinated rocket attacks into Israel from Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza indicates Iran’s proxies are working together to inflict terror onto the Jewish State. Iranian financial support of these organisations will encourage an escalation in violence as well as more terror networks joining for financial reward.
