According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Israel ranks as the third most educated country in the world.
The data reflects that 50.9 percent of Israelis in the target age bracket have a higher-education degree. The report also noted that Jewish Israelis enter college at a later age than most Western counterparts because most serve in the military for at least two years after high school.
The OECD defines adult education level by the highest level of education completed by the 25-64-year-old population in three areas: below upper-secondary, upper secondary and tertiary education in the form of a two-year degree, four-year degree or vocational program.
The OECD, founded in 1961, works to provide a platform for all of its 36 member countries to help both identify and solve economic issues.
Other countries on the list included South Korea in 4th place, the United Kingdom in 5th, Australia, 7th, Finland, 8th, Norway, 9th, and Luxembourg, 10th.
