Three rockets were fired by terrorists in Gaza at Israel last night, prompting a response from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Two of the rockets were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome missile defence system, and one rocket landed outside the town of Sderot.
The IDF confirmed that fighter jets conducted a wide-scale strike on Hamas targets in the southern Gaza Strip, including underground weapons manufacturing infrastructure.
Earlier this week, it was reported that a member of Hamas had been killed while working in one of its underground tunnels in Gaza.
The rocket attacks come following the publication of the US peace plan. The IDF say that they are prepared for “outbreaks of violence in any area” and have bolstered the number of battalions in the West Bank and Gaza.
Palestinians protests have taken place at a number of locations in the West Bank, though turnout was relatively low and demonstrations were contained by the IDF and Border Police.
