A 45-year old Israeli man, Ari Fuld, was killed in a stabbing attack in the West Bank over the weekend.
The father of four was stabbed to death by a 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist outside a shopping centre in the town of Efrat. The victim, who had dual American and Israeli citizenship, chased after his attacker and shot him before falling to the ground. The attacker, named as Khalil Yousef Ali Jabarin, was moderately wounded and is receiving treatment at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
Mr Jabarin’s parents reportedly warned Palestinian Authority security officials as well as IDF soldiers at a nearby checkpoint that they believed their son was planning to carry out an attack after going missing following a family argument.
Ari Fuld’s funeral was attended by thousands of Israelis, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted that “we will remember him forever”, describing him as a “hero”.
Mr Fuld was well known for his online activism defending Israel. He worked for Standing Together, a non-governmental organisation that provides support for Israeli soldiers.
Since September 2015, 67 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and over 1000 wounded by Palestinian terrorists in over 194 stabbings, 201 shootings, 68 car-ramming attacks and 1 vehicle bombing.
