Israel Opposition Leader Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Home Secretary Priti Patel and Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi for their “tremendous support” of Israel, during a whistle-stop visit to London this week. The visit also featured a CFI hosted event with 30 Conservative MPs and Peers and a tour of Parliament.
The former Prime Minister, along with Israeli Ambassador to the UK H.E. Tzipi Hotovely, had “excellent working meetings” with the Cabinet members and participated in a Q&A session with Conservative parliamentarians coordinated by CFI and chaired by CFI Honorary President Lord Polak CBE. Following the event, Netanyahu praised their “unwavering support of Israel and their important position in favour of the Jewish community and against antisemitism”. Iran’s nuclear programme, Israel’s economic success story and how Israel can use its advances and economic potential to improve its relations with the rest of the world were key topics of discussion during the session.
The packed event was attended by over 30 Conservative parliamentarians, including CFI Parliamentary Chairman Rt. Hon. Stephen Crabb MP, former Cabinet members Rt. Hon. Sajid Javid MP and Rt. Hon. Liam Fox MP as well as CFI Vice-Chairs Rt. Hon. Theresa Villiers MP and John Howell MP.
