An Israeli Border Police officer, 19-year-old Binyamin Yakobovitch, has died from his wounds after being run over by a terrorist last week.
The car-ramming attack took place on Route 60 at the Halhul junction in Gush Etzion, near Hebron in the West Bank. Another officer was also injured before the attacker was shot dead by security forces.
The family of St.-Sgt. Yakobovitch have said they will donate his organs.
On Friday and over the weekend, a number of terror attacks left ten Israelis injured. In Sha’ar Binyamin, near Jerusalem, an Israeli was injured in a stabbing attack. Later on Friday, two teenagers were injured in a shooting attack in Hebron. An Israeli soldier was seriously injured in another shooting attack north of Hebron.
On Sunday, a car-ramming attack injured four Israelis including a pregnant woman at the Tapuah junction in the West Bank. Two of those injured are in a serious condition. The attacker, a 22-year-old Palestinian from Ramallah, was shot dead by security forces.
In Beitar Illit, south of Jerusalem, a civilian security guard was lightly injured after a Palestinian woman lunged at him with a knife. CCTV footage of the attack has been widely circulated on social media. The attacker was shot and wounded.
An Israeli man was seriously wounded in a stabbing attack later on Sunday as he shopped at a Palestinian market near Alfei Menashe in the West Bank.
Earlier today, a stabbing attack was foiled near Alfei Menashe. A Palestinian woman was shot and killed by security forces as she attempted to carry out an attack.
There have been 62 stabbing attacks, 7 shootings and 8 car rammings in Israel and the West Bank in the latest wave of terror attacks. 12 Israelis have been killed and over 150 injured; 22 seriously.
At least 60 Palestinians have died, of which over 40 are confirmed to have been killed during or after committing an act of terror. A number of Palestinians have been killed in violent clashes with Israeli security forces in the West Bank and Gaza, during stone throwing and firebomb attacks.
