An Israeli biotech company have claimed that they will have a “complete cure” for cancer by 2020. Dan Aridor, Chairman of the board of Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies said: “We believe we will offer in a year’s time a complete cure for cancer”.
Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies (AEBi), was founded in 2000 from the ITEK Weizmann technology incubator. While no official scientific papers have yet been published, it is understood that the cure will involve a toxin which targets cancer cells and cancer-targeting peptides.
Dan Aridor added: “Our cancer cure will be effective from day one, will last a duration of a few weeks and will have no or minimal side-effects at a much lower cost than most other treatments on the market. Our solution will be both generic and personal”.
CEO of the biotech company Dr Ilan Morad said they started with identifying why other cancer-related drugs and treatment are not working and then they looked for an effective way to counter it.
Most cancer drugs attack a specific target or on the cancer cell, but the company’s MuTaTo (multi-target toxin) treatment is said to attack the cancer cell’s receptors from three different directions.
After a successful mice trail, Morad said that the company is now preparing to try medicines on humans through this year. Following this, they will introduce the medicine in the market by next year.
Each year, around 18. 1 million new cases of cancer are being diagnosed across the globe.
