A teenage girl was killed and her father and brother were seriously injured in a terrorist bombing near a popular hiking spot outside the central West Bank settlement of Dolev this morning.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) say they consider the blast to be a “serious terror attack” and they are searching for those responsible.
The teenage daughter, 17, was critically wounded in the attack and received treatment at the scene from civilian and military medics before being pronounced dead.
The father, 46, sustained injuries to his upper body, and his son, 19, sustained trauma to his upper limbs and upper body.
According to an Army spokesperson, it remains unclear exactly what type of device was used in the blast, and if the device was planted and triggered by the family as they approached it or if it was thrown at them.
In recent weeks there have been sustained warnings, from Israel’s military, of an increase in violence and terrorist activities in Gaza and the West Bank in the run-up to the snap September 17th Israeli general election.
This time last week, a Palestinian terrorist rammed his car into two Israeli teenage siblings, injuring one of them seriously. This occurred outside the Elazar settlement in the central West Bank, on the south side of Jerusalem.
