Middle East Minister Andrew Murrison celebrated the “extraordinary bonds” between the UK and Israel at the Israeli Embassy’s Independence Day reception this week.
Mr Murrison underlined: “The UK stands shoulder to shoulder with you”.
He celebrated Israel’s “staunch support for democracy” and “shared values” between the two countries.
He said: “It’s difficult to see how the UK-Israel relationship could be much stronger”.
In a Tweet after the event, he said it was “a pleasure to attend Israel’s National Day reception”, adding “I look forward to strengthening the UK and Israel’s already close partnership”.
At the reception, which marked Israel’s 71st Independence Day, Israeli Ambassador to the UK, H.E. Mark Regev hailed the thriving UK-Israel ties in tourism and trade.
