Conservative MPs John Howell and Bob Blackman celebrated the UK and Israel’s flourishing trade ties in Parliament this week.
Speaking in the Queen’s Speech debate, Britain in the World, on Monday, CFI Vice-Chairman John Howell OBE MP hailed “phenomenal trade” with Israel and spoke about his recent visit to the country.
He said: “The UK is the second largest trade partner with Israel. We are a phenomenal trade partner with that country”.
Mentioning his visit to the country in December with CFI, he praised the technology of Magen David Adom, Israel’s national ambulance service, who use advanced technology to cut response emergency times and save lives.
Mr Howell said: “That sort of technology is available for us if we want to look at it carefully. If we want to take it, scale it up and use it across the UK, it has the potential to save a tremendous number of lives”.
CFI Officer Bob Blackman emphasised in his speech that “we have opportunities for even greater trade”. He added: “I am delighted that we will ensure that local authorities attempting to boycott Israel will be denied the right to do so”.
