CFI Director Stuart Polak CBE has confirmed he will become CFI’s Honorary President, following the announcement that he is to be elevated to the House of Lords. Commenting on the decision, Mr Polak said:
“I have had the enormous privilege of leading CFI for some 26 years and over that time have had the honour to work with some wonderful people both here in the UK and in Israel.
The aims and objectives of CFI are simple to understand – we support the Conservatives and support our democratic ally Israel. Something we proudly have tried to fulfill throughout the last 26 years.
The Prime Minister has given me a once in a lifetime opportunity to enter the House of Lords, which will enable me to continue to advocate for Israel.
In so doing, I would like to confirm that from Friday 9th October 2015 I will retire from my professional role as the paid Director of CFI. However, this is far from being the end of my journey with CFI. I am delighted that the CFI Board of Directors have invited me to become the Honorary President of CFI, enabling me to continue my involvement with CFI on an ongoing basis.
CFI has an amazingly talented young professional team and, together with the Directors and the newly constituted Parliamentary Group led by the outstanding Rt. Hon. Sir Eric Pickles MP, the future is exciting and I look forward to continuing to play my part going forward”.
