Tel Aviv’s City Hall on Sunday was lit up with the colours of the British flag in solidarity with the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The UK’s Ambassador to Israel, H.E. Neil Wigan said: “I just watched from Rabin Square as Tel Aviv City Hall lit up with Flag of United Kingdom flag. A touching gesture of solidarity against Corona. My thanks to Ron Huldai [Mayor of Tel Aviv] and Tel Aviv Municipality”.
Tel Aviv’s official Twitter account posted: “City Hall is lit with the colours of the British flag as a token of solidarity with our partner city London and with the British people as a whole”.
Conservative MPs Tom Tugendhat MBE, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, and Imran Ahmad Khan thanked the city for its gesture.
