A supermarket employee in the central Israeli town of Yavneh is in critical condition after being stabbed by a Palestinian man yesterday in what police say is a terror attack.
The 42-year-old victim was stabbed repeatedly in the chest, neck and head, leaving him with critical injuries. A 19-year-old Palestinian from Nablus in the West Bank, Ismail Ibrahim Ismail abu Aramwas, was named as the attacker.
Police spokesman Superintendent Micky Rosenfeld said: “The Palestinian suspect came to a supermarket packed with people, and began stabbing the victim. We know there was no pre-existing relationship between the two whatsoever, so we confirmed it was a terrorist attack”.
Yesterday’s attack is the latest in a wave of stabbing, shooting and car-ramming attacks that have taken place since September 2015 in which 50 Israelis, a Palestinian man, two Americans, an Eritrean man and a British student have been killed.
