British and Israeli government officials have this week discussed paths for joint collaboration between the two countries in the fight against coronavirus.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said on Twitter: “We are working with world leaders and counterparts across the globe as we tackle the coronavirus pandemic”, adding that he had a “good discussion” with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “on how British and Israeli expertise can help overcome this unprecedented challenge”.
Minister of the Middle East Rt. Hon. James Cleverly MP said that he spoke to Israel’s Ambassador to the UK H.E. Mark Regev, and that he is “encouraged by the excellent collaboration between the UK and Israel” amidst the coronavirus crisis.
Ambassador Regev said it was a “pleasure catching up with Middle East Minister James Cleverly…Pioneering Anglo-Israeli research could help offer solutions to the #COVID19 crisis”.
