US Vice President Joe Biden has condemned the recent wave of violence against Israelis and criticised the Palestinian Authority for failing to condemn attacks and inciting further violence.
The Vice President met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday together with his wife, Jill, and Netanyahu’s wife, Sara.
Mr Biden said: “The United States of America condemns these acts and condemns the failure to condemn these acts”.
He continued: “The kind of violence we saw yesterday, the failure to condemn it, the rhetoric that incites that violence, the retribution that it generates, has to stop”.
Official Palestinian Authority television honoured the 22-year-old Palestinian murderer of American tourist Taylor Force yesterday, calling him a ‘Shahid’ (an Islamic Martyr).
Fatah’s official Facebook page posted a drawing of a knife held over a map of ‘Palestine’ that includes all of Israel and the Palestinian territories. The drawing glorified “the heroic Shahid Bashar Masalha”.
Masalha stabbed the 29-year-old American student to death and went on to attack passersby and motorists along the Tel Aviv beach promenade before being shot and killed by police. Ten people were wounded including a pregnant woman.
