On Wednesday, CFI Parliamentary Chairmen Rt. Hon. Stephen Crabb MP and Rt. Hon. The Lord Pickles, and CFI Honorary President Lord Polak CBE, congratulated former Trade Secretary Liz Truss on her appointment as Foreign Secretary.

“Liz has been a passionate advocate for the forthcoming UK-Israel trade deal and her recent visit to the country emphasised the UK’s commitment to the Jewish State”, they said. The Parliamentarians added: “We look forward to working with Liz to deepen the UK’s strong relationship with Israel”. The Foreign Secretary visited Israel for the first time in June 2021.

Following a meeting with the Israeli Minister for Economy and Industry, Orna Barbivay, Ms Truss said: “As two democratic free trading nations, both with thriving technology industries, I’m looking forward to deepening the historic ties between the UK and Israel”. Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s new cabinet met for the first time today after a wide-ranging reshuffle.
