YafaThe Yafa Cultural Center in Nablus in the West Bank, which reportedly receives funding from the European Union and other European development agencies, held its first youth folk dance competition this month, where participating children danced to songs endorsing violence against Israel, Palestinian Media Watch has reported.

The competition, which took place on February 12th, awarded its first prize to childen dancing to music with lyrics explicitly calling for Jihad and war with “despicable” Zionists. The winning dancers also received wooden maps of ‘Palestine’ replacing Israel, according to the report.

17 groups of children participated in the event. The winning song, titled ‘Pull, For You Are Pulling the Trigger’, was previously broadcast on Palestinian Authority TV in 2010. It includes the lyrics: “The Zionists coveted [our] homeland…We replaced bracelets with weapons
We attacked the despicable [Zionists]…While this invading enemy is on the battlefield, This is the day that Jihad is needed, Pull the trigger, We shall redeem Jerusalem, Nablus and the country”.

In late 2014, the Yafa Cultural Center received around £10,820 from German development agency GIZ, £1,514 from Norway and £17,312 from the European Union, according to its financial report.
