Gila Gamliel, Israel’s Minister of Intelligence, warned Parliamentarians of the “dark cloud” of Iran, which “threatens our freedom” as democratic nations, at a Britain-Israel APPG briefing this week.

The Minister called the division of terror groups – including the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) – into political and military wings a “mistake”, quoting Hezbollah authorities in their admission that the two operational branches are “one organisation”. She called on the UK “to take a united stand to outlaw the IRGC” for the sake of the world’s future as they are the “main threat to all of us” with the “main function to export a violent revolution”.

Ms Gamliel warned of the Islamic Republics increasing race “towards nuclear supremacy” and the State’s refusal to share developmental data with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). She cautioned that Iran is triggering a nuclear arms race and that their intention is “to commit mass murder” against the one and only Jewish State”.

Expressing that “The IRGC terrorises its own public”, she criticised the United Nations’ decision to appoint Iran as Chair of the UN Human Rights Council Social Forum, calling the appointment “a joke”.

The Minister also hailed the Abraham Accords which has paved the way for a “regional renaissance of cooperation”. She suggested that normalisation with Saudi Arabia is possible, and that Israel is “working on it” The room applauded Mr Beheshti for his efforts to proscribe the IRGC.
