CFI Honorary President Lord Polak CBE has underlined that the recent Israel-UAE normalisation agreement is “good news for all in the region”.
Speaking in the House of Lords last week, Lord Polak highlighted UAE Ambassador Mansoor Abulhoul’s comments to the Jewish News in his first interview with the paper, that the “narrative that the Arabs should be in endless war with the Israelis is absolute nonsense and the Abraham Accords proves that”.
He asked the Minister whether they agreed “that the UAE should be praised for its efforts to secure peace and stability in the region?”
FCDO Minister Baroness Sugg said in response that she joined Lord Polak in welcoming the agreement, adding that “This is a historic step that takes annexation off the table and is a real opportunity to restart talks between Israel and Palestine”.
