After CFI’s Annual Business Lunch on Monday evening, Prime Minister Boris Johnson lit a menorah at Downing Street to mark the second night of Chanukah.

The Prime Minister was joined at No10 by Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid MK and Israel’s Ambassador H.E. Tzipi Hotovely.

Also present was the Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom, Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis. Mr Lapid also lit the candles, and in a statement afterwards said: “Prime Minister Johnson’s support for Israel is unequivocal. He is a close and loving friend of ours. The candle lighting was moving. Happy Chanukah to all citizens of Israel and to Jews around the world”.

Prime Minister Johnson said: “This Chanukah, as we remember the rededication of the temple, I want to rededicate my support for our fantastic Jewish community. Thank you for your amazing contribution to this country”. Watch his video message here.
