26CFI is delighted to announce that the Rt. Hon. Eric Pickles MP will be our new Parliamentary Chairman.

Eric has always been extraordinarily supportive of Israel and CFI, as well as a source of good advice, having first travelled to Israel with CFI in 1994. He most recently visited Israel in June 2014 as Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

Rt. Hon. Eric Pickles MP said:

“Israel is a bastion of democracy in the Middle East. There are many common ties between our two nations – culture, trade and technology. I am very much looking forward to building on the great work of my predecessors and strengthening the UK-Israeli friendship”.

CFI Director, Stuart Polak said:

“As a former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Conservative Party, we are pleased to have such an experienced and well-liked figure to serve as Parliamentary Chairman”.

CFI would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Parliamentary Chairmen, Rt. Hon. James Arbuthnot MP and James Clappison MP, for their outstanding contribution and leadership over the past few years.
